Meet your Accent Coach
Our lead accent coach, Jon Berton, M.A-SLP, is a native Angelino who attended the University of Southern California and graduated cum laude with a degree in linguistics and psychology, before receiving a Masters of Communication Sciences and Speech Pathology at CSUN. Jon has been a speech pathologist for over 25 years, and was given the ACE award by the American Speech and Hearing Association, for his commitment to post graduate study and research. Jon also trained with the late great dialect coach Sam Chwat, as well as collaborated with other pioneers in the field of accent reduction.
Jon co-founded one of the first university accent reduction classes in the United States, while serving as a faculty member at California State University, Northridge. He also taught English in Japan and Los Angeles at Asian Rehabilitation Services. Jon Berton is one of the most sought after accent trainers and speech consultants in the United States.
